Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed

  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink.
  • Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add butter and allow it to melt on low heat.
  • Add minced garlic to the melted butter, stirring frequently until fragrant but not browned, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the asparagus to the skillet, tossing to coat with the garlic butter. Cook until the asparagus is tender, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the asparagus, mixing well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  • Add lemon zest, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Stir well to ensure the shrimp and asparagus are well coated.
  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
